Firth named as Gill's Successor...
Kippax Welfare can today report that they have acted quickly in securing the right man for the job as Martyn Gill's successor for next seasons U13's team and are delighted to announce the signing of Neil Firth as their new Head Coach.
Neil aka Nez or "little legs" has signed a one year deal that will see him take charge of the team from next Monday and speaking on behalf of the club Judy Dean had this to say:
"Nez was by far and large the best candidate for the role, not only is he already a qualified coach with community coaching under his belt he is also roughly the same height as Martyn so we don't need to buy him any new gear as long as Martyn remembers to wash it for the first time in 5 seasons"
We caught up with Neil who had this to say on his appointment "I can't wait to get started and will hopefully bring some new and fresh ideas to the table that will develop the lads and hopefully put us in a position to progress and kick on"
The club wish Neil and the lads the best of luck going forward
End of an Era as Coach Gill steps down

Martyn Gill who has led his team as Head Coach for the last 5 seasons stepped down from his position yesterday evening to concentrate on the opportunities that have been presented to him working with Castleford Tigers.
Coach Gill was offered a Scholarship coaching position in 2009 with the Tigers and has progressed quickly through the ranks now assisting their Academy team and he looks to build upon this as he embarks on his Level 3 coaching qualification.
Martyn took up coaching with Kippax back in 2004 and had this to say about his time with the club:
"Kippax Welfare ARFLC has been a massive part of my life for some years now, firstly as a player and for the last 5 seasons as a Head Coach within the Junior set up. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time coaching here and the lads have been brilliant throughout. I will take away fond memories from this time going right back to our unbeaten season of U8's to our recent Ambassador Tour of France as U12's.
My work at the Tigers aswell as work and family committments have meant that I have had to make some tough decisions and the team requires someone who can commit fully to their needs and I believe that this is the right decision for them and me. I will still be around when I can and will hopefully be able to pass on my experiences and knowledge of what makes them tick to my successor"
The club would like to thank Martyn for his time at the club and wish him all the best on his journey.
