Kippax cling on

KippaxARLFCKippax Welfare 14 v 12 Townville Tigers 26th Sept 2009

Kippax hosted Townville looking to continue their fine start to the season.

Making their customary slow start Kippax were soon behind when Townville crossed for a 4-0 lead. They hit back when Max crossed wide left and with the conversion going astray the scores were level at 4 each. Mossa just failed to take advantage of an overlap when he spilled the ball but the next time a chance came his way he finished superbly for an 8-4 lead.

This was stretched further when a flowing move across field was finished by William and with Liam slotting the extras Kippax went into half-time with a comfortable 14-4 lead.

The second half was one way traffic as Kippax concede a string of penalties for incorrect plays of the ball, off-side at marker and incorrectly feeding the scrum. Townville took full advantage and crossed twice on the left to reduce the deficeit to 2 points.

At the end Kippax were fortunate to cling on and they were grateful when the final whistle went.

Ben took Man of the Match, Liam was Runner Up and William earned Most Improved. James , Thomas and Harry ran the ball in well with Harrison and Adam also contributing well. Russell and Wes made some crucial tackles whilst Jack and Azza were constant threats and Sam used his pace to good effect

Kippax have achieved clubmark!
