Welfare leave it late

KippaxARLFCTownville Tigers 4 v 22 Kippax Welfare 14th Nov 2009

Kippax headed for Townville having narrowly won the home fixture by 2 points.

This was very much a match of two halves and despite playing against 12 men Kippax struggled in the first half and it was only superb defence that stopped them from being over-run as they went into the break trailing 4-0.

They eventually got on the score sheet when Wes barged his way over from close in and a successful kick from Liam put them 6-4 up. With Townville tiring late on this was followed by a try from Liam to put them 10-4 and a converted try from Russell sealed the match and gave Kippax a 16-4 lead. They struck one more late on when Liam crossed again and his kick  moved the score to 22-4.

George, Harrison, Max and James made good ground in the face of fierce tackling with Robbie, Thomas and Azza supporting well. Russell worked tirelessly in defence, there were promising breaks from Liam and Mossa and Wes distributed the ball well. Sam made some threatening runs, Ben dealt well with the high ball and Tom made some crucial tackles. Luke and James Bar held their positions out wide and handled were a constant threat with their pace

Kippax have achieved clubmark!
