Memorial Seven's

In the early 1970’s, the village of Kippax was shocked to the core when two of their starlets were taken from them in a car accident. Steve Denton who had just signed forms for Castleford and Barry Ibbotson who had signed for Bramley were unfortunately killed and Kippax decided to honour them by playing a memorial sevens tournament in their honour. Many fantastic teams have participated in this tournament including the all conquering Bisons team of the eighties, a Hunslet RL side and the National Conference sides of Oulton and Lock Lane are regular visitors. To win the tournament will usually involve at least five wins and a hundred and four minutes work per player, not an easy task in June’s stifling heat !!
